Weekly checks

Once a week to verify the operational fitness of the lift to the extent of STN 27 4002; weekly checks are carried out by a trained and instructed worker (the lift attendant).

Professional inspections (every 3 months)

Carried out by a qualified worker to the extent of STN 27 4007. The result and the decision on the lift's fitness are recorded in the inspection protocol. The inspection must be performed by at least two workers of the same organisation.

Professional tests (every 3 years)

The test result, with an unambiguous decision on the lift's further fitness, is recorded in the test protocol. The record is attached to the lift passport as its integral part.

Professional tests after repairs

Carried out after medium and general repairs. After the repair and the verification test, the qualified worker records the result in the lift test protocol. The record is attached to the lift passport as its integral part.

Repeated official tests

Carried out by Technická inšpekcia (TI) and TÜV SÜD Slovakia (inspection bodies), as follows:

• at the prescribed 6-year intervals
• at intervals set by the previous official test
• before returning a lift to service

Inspection of fire extinguishers is required by Act No. 314/2001 Coll. and governed by implementing Decree No. 719/2002 Coll. on portable fire extinguishers. It is carried out:

• once a year
• a pressure test of the extinguishers every 5 years

Hydrants are inspected under Act No. 314/2001 Coll. and Decree No. 699/2004 Coll. on the supply of water for firefighting:

• once a year

Under Decree No. 726/2002 Coll., inspections of the fire alarm system are arranged by, and are the responsibility of, its user. The fire alarm system is checked:

• daily
• monthly
• quarterly
• yearly

Under Act No. 157/2018 Coll. on metrology and Decree No. 161/2019 Coll. on meters and metrological control:

• apartment cold and hot water meters installed since 1 Aug 2019 – verification valid for 5 years
• apartment water meters installed before 1 Aug 2019 – cold water 6 years, hot water 4 years
• heat meters – verification valid for 4 years

Under Act No. 124/2006 Coll. and Decree No. 508/2009 Coll.:

• a professional inspection once a year
• a professional test every 3 years, which also includes checking gas appliances

Under Act No. 314/2001 Coll. and Decree No. 401/2007 Coll.:

• once a year

Under Act No. 124/2006 Coll. and Decree No. 508/2009 Coll.:

• a professional test of the electrical installations in common areas every 5 years
• a professional test of the lightning conductors every 4 years
